IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), 17th to 18th November 2026
We invite submissions and participation for the Public Service Accounting and Accountability Workshop 2026, which will take place at Politecnico di Milano on 17–18 November 2026. The workshop aims to provide a stimulating and supportive environment for academic scholars and practitioners interested in public service accounting and accountability, while also creating space for broader and more interactive discussion on emerging issues affecting the field. The workshop will combine opportunities for paper development, scholarly exchange, and collective reflection within the community. The 2026 edition will focus on the intersection between humans and technology, including artificial intelligence, in the field of public sector accounting, accountability, and public service management.

WORKSHOP FORMAT
The Workshop will take place over two days and will combine developmental paper discussion with more interactive and community-oriented formats.
Day 1 – 17 November 2026
• Morning: Early Career Researchers (ECRs) Programme
• Afternoon: Plenary speech followed by paper presentation sessions
Day 2 – 18 November 2026
• Morning and afternoon: Interactive thematic sessions
The sessions on 18 November will be organised around two parallel discussion tables.
Each table will be opened by a provocator, who will frame the discussion and raise key questions, and facilitated by a moderator, who will guide participants through an interactive exchange.
This format is intended to create space not only for the presentation of research, but also for collective reflection on conceptual tensions, future research agendas, and practical implications for the field.
We hope to see you soon at Milan!
