We are pleased to announce the EIASM Public Sector Conference 2026, which will take place in Vienna, Austria, from 9–11 September 2026.

Conference Theme:Organisation, Management, Accountability and Accounting in a ‘More-Than-Human’ World.


This year’s theme invites scholars to explore how public sector organisations navigate complex challenges in a world increasingly shaped by non-human entities such as technologies and natural systems. We welcome contributions on all aspects of public service management, accountability, and accounting, including interdisciplinary perspectives from public administration, public policy, and organisational theory.


Key Topics Include:

  • Coping with crises and wicked issues in unstable environments

  • Organisational and accountability implications of a ‘more-than-human’ world

  • Public value creation and performance measurement

  • Digitalisation, AI, and their impact on equity and sustainability

  • Innovations in public sector accounting, auditing, and reporting

  • Citizens-state interactions and co-production in service delivery


Important Dates:

  • Conference Dates: 9–11 September 2026

  • Submission Deadline: Thursday 23 April, 2026

  • Notification of Acceptance: As of 10 June, 2026


Research papers using diverse methodologies—case studies, surveys, archival research, experiments—are encouraged.
