Put a placeholder in your diaries/calendar for the 16th Colloquium in Qualitative Research Methods in Business and Accounting, which is scheduled to take place at the University of Bologna next year, on March 23rd and 24th, 2026!

Led by Lee Parker since 2008, this two-day intensive research development forum is designed for doctoral students, emerging and established scholars in accounting, management, and business. The event will include formal presentations from internationally recognised scholars and interactive forums, group work, and exercises engaging all participants.

The methodological themes to be covered in the 2026 edition will include:

• Grounded Theory

• Interviews

• Bricolage as a theoretical practice

• Qualitative generalising

• What counts as good qualitative research

• Text Analysis Approaches in Corporate Narrative Reporting

• Oral History

Presenters:

• Niamh Brennan, Emeritus Full Professor of Corporate Governance at University College Dublin

• Lukas Goretzki, Full Professor of Management Accounting & Control and Head of the Accounting Department at the Stockholm School of Economics

• Lee Parker, Research Professor of Accounting at Glasgow University, Scotland

• Ileana Steccolini, Professor of Accounting and Public Management, University of Bologna and University of Essex

• Luca Zan, Alma Mater Professor, University of Bologna
