‘Accounting, Accountability and Performance Measurement in the Public Sector: Future Research Avenues’

The first SIG Workshop was aimed at putting together scholars interested in making a difference in public sector accounting, accountability, financial and performance measurement research, by significantly influencing the future developments of this field.

During the workshop, usual ways of looking at such topics were challenged by trying to develop original thought and future research ideas. The workshop consisted of both plenary and parallel sessions, during which new research avenues, publication/dissemination and research funding opportunities were discussed with attention to  (among others) the following topics:

• Performance measurement and management accounting

• Accountability, accounting and financial management.
