Hong Kong, 13-15 April 2016
Panel on ‘Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Accounting and Performance Measurement in the Globalized Post-NPM World’
In line with this year’s overarching IRSPM conference theme ‘Collaborative, Globalized and Interdisciplinary: Moving the Public Management Debate Forward’, the Accounting and Accountability SIG panel hosted papers that addressed:
-
public accounting and measurement practices at the intersection of policy, politics, management, governance structures;
-
the question how social, political, cultural, and organizational elements shape and, in turn, are shaped by accounting and performance measurement systems, practices and uses;
-
the challenges, impacts and ways out of geographical, paradigmatic, and disciplinary silos.
-
Organized by James Guthrie Macquarie University Australia, Iris Saliterer, Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet Freiburg Germany, and Ileana Steccolini, Bocconi University Italy, the panel covered six sessions of new ideas, insights and interesting discussions thanks to the engagement of participants, presenters, session chairs, and designated discussants.
Ideas were spreading and talks were intensified also at the SIG’s culinary get-together…
…and at the conference gala dinner!
